Introduction

There is no formal organization associated with the Workshop, but there is a nine-member committee, which have a three-year term of office. Each year, participants in the Workshop elect three new members, and three members rotate off the committee. The three senior members serve as the program coordinators for the upcoming meeting.

Although the Workshop started out as a North American initiative, gradually it has attracted scientists from other continents. Researchers from many countries in Europe and Asia join their colleagues from the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Marcus Schaub is the European contact for this meeting. If you need more information from that perspective, please send him an email.

Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to attend; in recent years, a substantial proportion of the attendees have been graduate students. Attempts are being made to secure funding to help defray travel costs for students making presentations (either oral or posters) at the Workshop. Registration fees will be reduced for students.
