Optional Field Trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway to Mount Mitchell State Park and Grandfather Mountain

Mt. Mitchell is the highest peak in the eastern U.S. and Grandfather Mt. is a United Nations Biosphere Reserve with many endemic plant and animal species.
